Ansiedad y depresión por dolor crónico neuropático y nociceptivo
Resumen
Objetivo: comparar ansiedad y depresión entre pacientes con dolor neuropático y nociceptivo de primera vez en una clínica del dolor.
Material y métodos: estudio no experimental, exploratorio y descriptivo, en el que se evaluaron 78 pacientes de la consulta de primera vez en una clínica del dolor, divididos en dos grupos: 44 con dolor neuropático y 34 con dolor nociceptivo. Para evaluar ansiedad y depresión se empleó la escala Hospital Anxiety and Depression (HAD), adaptada y validada en México.
Resultados: de 78 pacientes estudiados, 76.9 % fue de sexo femenino y 23.1 % del masculino. La edad promedio fue 56.9 ± 16.8 años para los pacientes con dolor neuropático y 63.1 ± 17.2 años para los de dolor nociceptivo. La confiabilidad de la escala HAD fue evaluada mediante el análisis alfa de Chronbach, con r = 0.826. No hubo diferencias estadísticamente significativas respecto a la sintomatología de ansiedad y depresión entre tipos de dolor; sin embargo, al analizar la totalidad de pacientes se encontró que la ansiedad fue mayor que la depresión (p < 0.0001).
Conclusiones: independientemente del diagnostico algológico, los pacientes de primera vez presentan una sintomatología afectiva similar.
