Pentalogía de Cantrell. Informe de cuatro casos

Resumen


Introducción: en 1958, Cantrell y colaboradores describieron un síndrome poco común el cual se integra con defectos de la pared toracoabdominal, diafragma, pericardio y del corazón.

Casos clínicos: en nuestra unidad hospitalaria manejamos cuatro recién nacidos con síndrome de Cantrell en un periodo de cinco años, sin que hubiésemos observado algo en común respecto a posibles agentes causales. Se pretende estudiar el curso clínico y los detalles de la intervención quirúrgica.

Conclusiones: la detección temprana de este complejo de anomalías es muy importante, no solo para el diagnóstico de precisión y planteamiento operatorio, sino también para la emisión de un pronóstico correcto.
