Al primigenio hospital pediátrico de la seguridad social mexicana

Resumen


El día 31 de diciembre de 1942 se promulgó la ley que dio lugar a la fundación del Seguro Social y posteriormente en 1945 se modificó para dar lugar al Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social. Los primeros 10 años se caracterizaron por la integración y aceptación de servicios de salud desde la visión de la seguridad social. En la década de 1950, con la edificación del Hospital La Raza, y en la década de 1960, del Centro Médico Nacional, se llevó a cabo la expansión y creación de unidades de especialidades. El Hospital de Pediatría del Centro Médico Nacional fue uno de ellos. Se presenta una breve descripción histórica de sus orígenes y, sobre todo, del impacto que tuvo en la medicina mexicana.
