Abstract

Epilepsy is a disease characterized by a continued predisposition to the onset of epileptic seizures and is accompanied by neurobiological, cognitive, psychological and social consequences.1 The factors that trigger neuropsychological alterations in children with epilepsy are the age of onset, the type of seizure and treatment.2 In pediatric age, the brain is in development, so any event that alters its homeostasis will trigger an adverse effect.
