Abstract

One of the confusions aroused by the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic is the idea that angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors and type 1 angiotensin II receptor may aggravate the lung damage induced by SARS CoV-2 virus in older adult patients. In this brief statement, the scientific evidence supporting this association is analyzed from a critical perspective.
